Trinity School is a fully accredited, independent, college preparatory school
of students in small classes of sixteen or less. Mrs. Mary Haines was instrumental in opening the school with four families
in September of 1974. These four families were from varied denominational backgrounds, but their commitment was to have a
school that was evangelical in persuasion, true to the Word, sound in classical academics, and creative in the arts. The school
was opened in a small house on Georgia Street in Spindale, but before long the school had outgrown this facility. In its second
year, Trinity moved to an unused educational building at Spencer Baptist Church in Spindale, where it would remain for the
next five years.
In the spring of 1976 Trinity School was chartered and incorporated as not-for-profit
corporation. Academic success and spiritual fruit continued to abound. In the fall of 1978 Trinity began a day care ministry
to meet the needs of many young families in which both parents worked. The preschool was opened in a small Presbyterian Church,
which had space available.
In the fall of 1980 Trinity School entered a new building on donated land
at 299 Deter Street. At that time there were 120 students in grades kindergarten through ninth grade. The building was constructed
by parents, most of whom were not trained as builders. The Lord provided the expertise, which was needed along with the volunteer
work force, and the building became a reality. In time a gymnasium was added to the campus as well as a preschool and middle
school building.
We are continuing to experience the blessings of God. Enrollment has
grown by 60% in the past three years. Test scores remain high. The annual budget is thirty times its original size. God continues
to bless those who honor Him. Honoring God and experiencing His blessings in the tradition of Trinity School and will continue
to be as we prayerfully unite to fulfill His calling on Trinity and our school family.
